Curator - Water Services
Limerick City and County Council invites applications from suitable qualified applicants for the permanent position of Curator – Water Services.
The successful candidate will be employed as a Curator with Limerick City & County Council.
Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms;
Candidates shall be of good character
Candidates shall be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect to render regular and efficient service
3) Education, Training, Experience, Etc.
Each candidate shall, on the latest date for receipt of completed application form for the post;
a. have reached a standard of education sufficient to enable him/her to carry out the duties assigned to him/her satisfactorily
b. hold the National Craft Certificate or equivalent and have completed a recognised apprenticeship to the trade of plumber or fitter
c. have satisfactory experience in such areas as maintenance and operation of water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and collection systems or experience of an equivalent nature
d. have a satisfactory working knowledge or experience of computer based systems and have basic computer skills
e. hold a current clean full Class B driving licence
f. be resident within County Limerick or a reasonable distance thereof
g. have previous supervisory/management role
Candidates will preferably demonstrate through their application and at the interview that, at the closing date for receipt of completed applications, he/she has;
a) excellent communication and people management skills
b) the capacity to contribute to and work well in a team
c) detailed knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety legislation and requirements
d) detailed knowledge and understanding of water services operations
e) positive attitude with self motivation
f) have the ability to use initiative and judgement
g) excellent record of work based achievements and flexibility
Rate of Pay:
€619.99 - €725.46 per week
The Local Government Superannuation Scheme applies.
30 days per annum
Hours of Work:
39 hours per week.
The Curator shall be required to work a thirty-nine hour week which shall be averaged over seven days, i.e. Monday to Sunday. The remuneration is inclusive of any premium payable in respect of Saturday or Sunday work including any work on bank holidays. Overtime shall not be payable.
