The Planning Enforcement Officer will, in the first instance, be assigned to the Planning Enforcement Section of the Planning & Property Development Department. The Planning Enforcement Officer will report to the Enforcement Manager with responsibility for planning enforcement. Their duties will be primarily to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the City Council’s Development Plan by addressing instances of unauthorised or non-compliant development, non-compliance with financial contribution conditions, and/or to assist in the coordination of Outdoor Event Licencing applications/compliance.
Investigation of unauthorised developments include site inspection, taking measurements, identification of owner/developers, examination of planning history and any other matter that may become relevant to the development under investigation. The Planning Enforcement Officer will liaise with various stakeholders including property owners, developers, contractors, solicitors, elected members, event promoters, event safety consultants, statutory agencies including Gardai/HSE, transport agencies and operators, and Dublin City Council staff from a variety of Departments. They will be required to attend court to present evidence in enforcement cases relating to unauthorised development, and/or non-compliance with financial contributions conditions and/or non-compliance with outdoor event licencing requirements.
