Job Summary

The Road Safety Executive Engineer will work in the Transport, Mobility and Open Spaces Directorate within the Department of Transport Support Office (DoTSO).
The role will include responsibility for the management and successful delivery of a range of projects including the NSA and subsequent Pilot Studies, effective delivery of a range of services and responsibility for the management and supervision of assigned staff.  The role will also involve attendance of various Local Authority Road Safety Together Working Group Meetings, Technical Working Groups and liaison with a range of stakeholders including Local Authorities, DoT, TII, An Garda Siochana etc.
 

Education, Training and Experience etc.:

Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:

  1. Hold an honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) in Engineering;
  2. Have at least five years satisfactory relevant post graduate engineeringExperience;
  3. Have at least 2 years of Road Safety/Design experience;
  4. Possess a high standard of technical training and experience;
  5. Possess a high standard of administrative experience.

Candidates may be required to undertake specific Road Safety Training such as the Certificate in Road Safety Audit and Engineering and/or Practical Road Safety Auditing Course.

Please supply copies of any certificates, diplomas or degrees you may have with the application form. If qualifications were obtained outside of Ireland, please supply a comparability statement with your application.  
 

Applicants should at the date of applying hold a full valid Irish /EU licence, for Class B vehicles, or a licence acceptable to NDLS for transfer to full Irish licence.
