Meath County Council is the primary unit of Local Government in County Meath. The Council is responsible for the delivery of a wide range of public services in Meath, with a focus on making it the lead county for economic prosperity, social development and environmental protection, with efficient and good value services and a Council representing the people and communities of County Meath in an effective and accountable manner.
The Council is one of the county’s major employers, currently employing approximately 1020 staff. The Council’s Revenue Budget for 2024 is €208m and its 3-year rolling Capital Programme 2023-2025 has an estimated spend of €604m.

An opportunity now exists in Meath County Council for the position of Financial Management Accountant.
The Financial Management Accountant is a senior position within the Finance Department reporting to the Head of Finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for modernising and managing change in the finance function. They will be responsible for introduction of new initiatives, policies and procedures and working with multidisciplinary teams. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and progressive Local Authority which provides a multiplicity of services to the County.
