The role of the Technician Grade One in Land Use, Planning and Transportation Directorate could be within the Planning or Transport teams. Depending on which team the Technician Grade One is assigned, to the work would involve:
Supporting the engineering team with the operation, maintenance, and delivery of the transport infrastructure across the County.
Supporting the planning team in their assessment of planning applications, preparation of planning documents, and planning enforcement work.
Preparation of maps, plans, drawings and designs including the use of GIS, AutoCad and other such software.
Design and supervision of transport and public lighting works.
Procurement of works and consultants.
Data analysis and database maintenance / inventory.
Preparation of reports.
Interaction with members of the public and Elected Officials, providing information and informing them of upcoming works and dealing with associated enquiries.
Adhere to the Council’s corporate health and safety systems and implementation of department and section health and safety controls, including those relating to risk assessments and toolbox talks.
Any other activities as deemed necessary to fulfil the role and determined appropriate by senior managers.
