The Council is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates with relevant experience for the position of Building Inspector/Clerk of Works. It is proposed to form a panel of qualified candidates from which permanent and temporary vacancies which arise during the lifetime of the panel may be filled.
The position of Building Inspector/Clerk of Works is one which provides required oversight to ensure that all construction works are carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, construction standards, codes of practice, etc. and that all materials are provided and utilised in accordance with all manufacturers requirements and recommendations.
The appointee will provide all necessary site information to the Assigned Certifier and the Employer’s Representative to supplement the collection of relevant information and evidence in relation to compliance with the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations.
They may also be required to carry out regular property inspections, provide detailed technical reports and assist in the oversight and maintenance and refurbishment of housing, apartment dwellings, and both community and civic buildings.
