Job Summary

The role is both technical and business interfacing, the candidate must demonstrate strong technical skills and expertise while also managing project implementation.

The Executive Professional will report to the Head of the National Building Control and Market Surveillance Office and will have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the statutory and legal framework, national policy and current thinking regarding Building Control and Market Surveillance of Construction Products. The roles require an excellent technical knowledge of the Building Control Acts, Building Regulations, Building Control Regulations, EU Market Surveillance Regulations, EU Construction Products Regulations, EU Energy Performance in Buildings Regulations, and EU (in-Building Physical infrastructure for High - Speed Electronic Communications) Regulations; the risks for non-compliance, inspection strategies and the BCMS. They will be able to work within, and lead, multi-disciplinary teams and have the ability to motivate and encourage personnel under their control to achieve maximum performance.
Vacancies exist for Executive Professionals, within the National Building Control and Market Surveillance Office, the role which may be carried out by any of the following three professions:

  • Executive Engineer
  • Executive Architect
  • Executive Building Surveyor
Candidates must meet the Executive Engineer, Architect or Building Surveyor Educational/Experience standards i.e., baseline requirements to act in the role of the Design/Assigned Certifier or be eligible for registration under the Building Control Act 2007. 



 

The position will require travel from time to time to the 31 Building Control and Market Surveillance Authorities in Ireland for inspection and training purposes. Because of the nature of the role in this National Office flexible working arrangements are available.
