Part of the local government structure, the EMRA operates independently to provide a range of functions for the Region which include policy making, monitoring and oversight and promoting enhanced co-ordination in the Region. A key function of the Assembly is to prepare/review make and implement the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy which links Project Ireland 2040 with local economic development and planning through oversight of Development Plans and Local Economic and Community Plans. The Assembly also has an important role in promoting and supporting balanced regional development through participation in the management of EU funds programmes and securing EU funding for specific regional projects.
An opportunity now exists in Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly for the position of Senior Executive Planner.
The Senior Executive Planner will work directly with the Assistant Director/Senior Planner in advancing the work programme of the Assembly in consultation with the relevant stakeholders supporting the delivery of the proposed new strategies and supporting the delivery of the Assembly’s wider regional planning and development functions under the direction of the Assistant Director/Senior Planner.
