Kerry County Council’s Machinery Yard operates out of the Rathass Complex and is part of the Roads & Transportation Directorate providing a wide range of services, including Electrical Services, throughout the County.

The typical work areas for Electricans in Kerry County Council include;

• Roads & Transportation – Traffic Lights, Advanced Warning Lights, School Flashing Lights, Pedestrian Crossings, External Lighting for Monuments, Depots and Public Buildings, facilitating road transport of very long/wide loads
• Piers & Harbours – Power Supplies, Card Metering, Cranes/Winches
• Facilities – Offices, Depots, Fire Stations, Libraries, Playgrounds, Public Amenities, Periodic Testing, PAT Testing
• Environment – Transfer Stations and Civic Amenity Sites, SCADA, Public Conveniences, Graveyards
• Housing - Power Supplies, Card Metering, Halting Sites.

Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:
 

1. 1. be a qualified Electrician and have served a recognised apprenticeship and obtained a minimum National Craft Cert or equivalent (Candidates must supply documentary evidence in support of this qualification), and
2. 2. hold a full clean current driving licence in respect of Category B Vehicles or equivalent in the EU Model Driving Licence
3. 3. have a good standard of education sufficient to enable them to carry out their duties efficiently
