The Executive Architect will be required to work effectively in a flexible manner within a multi-disciplined team and will have responsibility in leading the delivery of architectural services to the Local Authority.  The post holder will contribute to the delivery of required outcomes outputs by using design to improve the attractiveness, liveability and sustainability of our built environment.

In line with the nature of Local Authority services, the duties are varied and can involve assignment to different parts of the organisation, or different areas of work.

Reporting to such designated person as may be assigned from time to time by the Chief Executive, the ideal candidate should have satisfactory experience of working within and leading multi-disciplined teams and have the ability to motivate and encourage personnel under his/her control to achieve maximum performance.
 

Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:
 

1. hold a professional qualification in Architecture that is prescribed under the Building Control Act 2007, or a qualification in Architecture that is equivalent to a qualification so prescribed in section 14 of the Building Control Act 2007, and
2. be eligible for registration as an Architect under the Building Control Act 2007 without requiring further assessment. Any appointment will be subject to registration under the Act;
3. have at least four years’ satisfactory experience of architectural work;
4. have experience in the design of buildings, the preparation of sketch plans, working drawings, details and specifications, and
5. have a satisfactory knowledge of public service organisation
