Sligo County Council is currently inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Resident Engineer. Sligo County Council will, following an interview process, form a panel for the post from which future relevant vacancies may be filled subject to sanction approval from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage. This panel will exist for one year and may be extended for a further period of one year at the discretion of the Chief Executive. Suitably qualified persons are invited to apply for inclusion on this panel.
Reporting to the Senior Resident Engineer or any other such designated person, the Resident Engineer will be responsible for the on-site supervision of the assigned project, ensuring that the contractor carries out all their obligations under contract and that all the work adheres to all drawings, specifications, codes, test and inspections as set on in the contract documents in accordance with legislation.
The post holder will communicate purposefully with the contractor and other stakeholders and monitor the work on site with regard to Health & Safety Legislation to ensure that the employers/client’s responsibilities are discharged.
The Resident Engineer will be responsible for the construction stage of Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF) Public Realm Enhancement projects but may be engaged to work on other Capital infrastructure projects as required during the duration of the contract.
