On assignment to Climate Action Directorate, the Executive Technician will be assigned to work in one of the following sections: Public Realm Maintenance and Design and Construction, Environmental Licensing and Enforcement, Natural Water and Flood Management. The Public Realm role will require: 1. The ideal candidate will possess an excellent working knowledge of CAD (AutoCAD) and GIS (ArcPro) including data types, transformations of coordinate systems, projections and geoid models. 2. Topographical Surveying and understanding grid systems, level datums, boundary mapping, data types and accuracy requirements. 3. Setting out and supervision of projects. 4. Preparation of legal mapping to enable the disposal /acquisition and transfer of land & property. 2 5. The examination of property title documents for the purpose of determining and extent of various interests and the making of statutory declarations in relation to property. 6. Management of the GIS Public Realm open space data, asset register and Green Infrastructure Data 7. The preparation of maps, plans and graphical components of Part 8 consultations in relation to Public Realm Infrastructure projects. 8. Production of designs, tender drawings and documentation in reference to Public Realm capital and operational projects. 9. Liaising with consultants, utility providers, public bodies and other stakeholders. 10. Co-ordinating with other Council Departments. The Environmental Services, Water Protection and Flood Management role will require: 1. Providing technical services relevant to the area of responsibility to which they have been assigned, for example, site inspection, site surveying, creation of drawings and graphics and report writing and recommendations. 2. Ensuring technical compliance with the building regulations and other statutory technical standards. 3. Maintaining and updating datasets and records. 4. Mapping of utility services. 5. Data capture and analysis in GIS. 6. Design and preparation of maps and drawings for public consultation presentation, planning, design and construction stages. 7. Site inspections. 8. Setting out and supervision of projects. 9. Liaising with stakeholders both internal and external 10. Dealing with enquiries from Councillors, the public and other departments. 11. Operating the appropriate technology as required to carry out the work to which they have been assigned 12. Preparation of public consultation display material and assistance at public consultation. 13. Managing workflows and producing regular progress reports on all aspects of their area of responsibility. 14. Preparation of health and safety documentation for works. 15. Supervision of staff assigned to them. 16. Assisting with the preparation of estimates. 3 17. The production of drawings and documents for Part 8 Planning submissions. 18. The production of Tender drawings and documentation in reference to construction projects. 19. Monitoring for compliance and enforcement of Waste related activities subject to Waste Management Act 1996, as amended and other waste related legislation. 20. Onsite inspections of waste facilities, waste collectors, construction sites, retailers, and residential dwellings. 21. Providing written inspection reports including recommendation of enforcement actions and the preparation of enforcement case files for legal proceedings. 22. Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time. On assignment to Planning and Transportation (P & T) Directorate, the Executive Technician will be assigned to work in Traffic / Road Maintenance / Road Safety. The role will include the: 1. Preparation of pavement condition surveys. 2. Preparation of traffic management plans and traffic surveys. 3. Road accident mapping and investigation. 4. Supervision of urban and street renewal schemes – street paving, surveying and preparing for small road scheme activities. 5. Planning for, and supervision of, road improvement works. 6. Preparation of health and safety documentation for all works. 7. Preparing reports on public liability claims. 8. Producing presentation work for Council and public display. 9. Processing planning enforcement and building control work, mapping and input into Development Plan, Local Area plan and Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) processes. 10. Operation and maintenance of public lighting. 11. Report writing in relation to all of the above. 12. Control and supervision of staff. 13. Any other activities as assigned by Line Manager / Supervisor.
