South Dublin County Council is one of four local authorities in the Dublin region. The Council’s administrative area is 223 square kilometres, bounded by Dublin city to the northeast, the Dublin Mountains and County Wicklow to the south, the River Liffey to the north separating it from Fingal and County Kildare to the west. Within that area is a population of 301,075 people living in the county, over 6,500 businesses and significant economic, social and cultural infrastructure to serve a growing capital city region.

An opportunity now exists in South Dublin County Council for the position of Senior Engineer.

Reporting to a Director of Service, the Senior Engineer is charged with the efficient management, direction and development of the directorates/department and function to which they are assigned. Managers at this level work within defined parameters relevant to the position, in accordance with the local authority's vision and objectives as set out in its Corporate Plan. Delivery of efficient services and value for money is crucial.

These are experienced managerial positions responsible for leading on policy implementation, service delivery and change management in a dynamic and goal driven environment.
