The role of the Harbour Controller is to manage traffic flow and parking arising from the large volume of tourists to Doolin Pier to avail of the ferry services to the Aran Islands and in order to minimise health and safety/traffic risks for pedestrians in the area.
 

Each candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:

1. Have a reasonable standard of education sufficient to enable them to perform the job efficiently and effectively.
2. Have a knowledge of maritime matters sufficient to enable them to discharge efficiently the duties  of Harbour Controller.
3. Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including ability to communicate effectively) and be fully capable on entry to discharge the duties of the position.
4. Possess the relevant business acumen and have appropriate managerial experience and possess the organisational skills to manage a busy harbour effectively and efficiently.
5. Possess basic IT skills and be capable of writing clear and concise reports and keeping work records, etc.

• Experience in operating under a Health & Safety Management System e.g., Toolbox talks, etc.
• Have a current Class B Driving Licence.
