Cork County Council is currently recruiting for the 2025 Season, Temporary Part Time Tourist Site Assistants for Camden Fort Meagher, Camden Road, Crosshaven, Co. Cork.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, hard-working and enthusiastic.
 

Reporting to the Camden Fort Meagher Manager, Assistant Manager or other designated officer, the duties may include but are not limited to the following and the post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned to him/her from time to time and to contribute to the development of the post while in office.
 

1. Meet and greet all visitors to Camden Fort Meagher.
2. Conduct tours of Camden Fort Meagher.
3. Provide relevant local tourist information to visitors.
4. Ensuring smooth operation and crowd control.
5. Keep up to date with historical research provided on an ongoing basis.
6. Take phone calls and complete bookings.
7. Re-stocking and maintaining of gift shop as required.
8. Operate ticket office and gift shop cash desk as required.
9. Follow cash handling procedures as instructed.
10. Assist in the setting up of events, special tours, exhibitions, shows, performances and other tasks outside of normal duties.
11. To ensure full compliance with the Health and Safety legislation, Safety Policies and Procedures.
12. Maintain cleanliness of public areas, staff areas and all other areas.
13. Open / close the fort as required.
14. Undertake training as required.
15. Perform other duties as appropriate to the post which may be assigned to him / her from time to time and to contribute to the development of the post while in office.
