Cork County Council is the second largest Local Authority in the Republic of Ireland and is the owner, or developer, of a significant stock of housing, civic and community buildings, and is the prime custodian of the public realm within its towns and villages.
Multidisciplinary design teams are working within a range of departments to coordinate a holistic design approach in relation to the delivery of sustainable public infrastructure throughout the whole County. Architects working in the Cork County Council are involved in a range of exciting projects and critical areas of work for the County including the provision of social and affordable housing, maintenance and upgrading of social housing stock, conservation/ refurbishment of buildings and public realm enhancement.
An opportunity now exists in Cork County Council’s Housing Directorate for the position of Senior Executive Architect.
The Senior Executive Architect will work as part of multi-disciplinary team within Cork County Council's Housing Directorate to deliver on the social and affordable programme targets across a broad range of infill, brownfield and greenfield sites.
The post holder will deliver a programme of architectural work and provide advice to the County Council on architectural matters. The Programme of Work will primarily focus on project managing the planning, design and delivery of housing projects within the County in line with annual targets but may involve other duties.
