The Environmental Compliance Officer will be part of a team within the Environment Department to fulfil our duties under Environmental compliance legislation including but not limited to the Waste Framework Directive (Directive 2008/98/EC on waste) and associated directives, Litter Pollution Act 1997, Air Pollution Act 1987 , The European Communities Environmental Noise Regulations 2018, Bathing Water Quality Regulations 2008, Water Framework Directive (WFD) (2000/60/EC), Waste Management Act 1996 and Protection of the Environment Act (Including all amendments thereof).
This shall include preparation of necessary plans and programmes.
The Environmental Compliance Officer serves as a key point of contact for all regulatory agencies, the public and internal departments providing them with necessary reports and documentation. The officer is responsible for ensuring that the organisation stays compliant with all environmental permits and certifications.
The duties may include, but are not limited to, the following and the post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post, which may be assigned to them from time to time and to contribute to the development of the post while in office.
