It is desirable that candidates demonstrate through their application form and at the interview that they:
 

• Possess a smart, alert and commanding presence
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Are self-motivated with a record of demonstrating initiative and achievement in a workplace environment
• Possess the capacity to contribute to and work well in a team
• Have sound judgement
• Have flexibility in terms of working hours as the duties will involve working outside of normal hours as required.

Candidates shall on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms for the office:-

• Hold a full driving licence for Class B vehicles free from endorsements and, shall drive a car in the course of their duties and for this purpose provide and maintain a car to the satisfaction of the local authority.  The council must be indemnified on their insurance.

• Have a good standard of education sufficient to enable him/her to perform the job efficiently and effectively.

• Have good initiative, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Have the ability to adapt to new processes/procedures and to undergo any training that is required.

• Have experience relative to the post

• Have knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.

Applicants must at the date of applying hold a full valid Irish /EU licence, for Class B vehicles or a licence acceptable to NDLS for transfer to full Irish licence
