Job Summary

Mayo County Council is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Emergency Communications Centre Manager (Grade VII). A panel may be created, and appointments may be made on a fixed term or permanent basis. The successful candidate will be assigned to WRCC (West Regional Communications Centre) at Fire Brigade HQ, Mayo County Council.

Mayo Fire Service operates the West Regional Control Centre (WRCC) on behalf of the local authorities of Connacht and County Donegal. WRCC provides the 112/999 emergency call answering and mobilising service for these Fire Authorities.
The WRCC is committed to delivering the best possible Fire Service mobilising system and high level of customer service to the citizens of the Western Region
 

  1. EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, ETC:
Each Candidate must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms:
    1. Have obtained at least Grade D (or a Pass), in Higher and Ordinary Level, in five subjects from the approved list of subjects in the Department of Education Established Leaving Certificate Examination or Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme or Applied Leaving Cert. and
have obtained at least Grade C (or Honours) in Higher Level (or Honours) papers in three subjects in that examination (or two subjects if Irish and/or one of the following is included: Mathematics, Accounting, Business Organisation or Economics)
or
    1. Have passed an examination of at least equivalent standard as listed above
or
    1. Hold a degree equivalent to a level 8 degree under the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), Ireland.
