Harbour Constable

Selection for all posts will be by means of interview and candidates may be shortlisted based on applications submitted. Panels may be formed from which future vacancies may be filled.  Applications will only be accepted on the official Wexford County Council application form as advertised with the post.

Candidates must, on the closing date for receipt of application forms for the post:

a) Have a good standard of general education to enable the duties of the post to be
performed to the satisfaction of the Local Authority.

b) Have knowledge of local navigation, tidal flows, weather forecasting, local fishing
operation, slipway and marina operations.

c) Be computer literate with a working knowledge of e-mail, word, excel, financial systems
etc.

d) Have a general knowledge and experience of Health & Safety Practices/Procedures
(e.g. risk assessments, safety work practice sheets)

e) Have experience in a supervisory role and in dealing with the public in customer related
roles.

f) Have successfully completed Manual Handling training and hold a current certificate
as at the closing date of the competition
